Ellen McGauley is a Florida-born writer and editor whose design and travel stories have taken her from Antigua to Montauk, Whidbey Island to the northern coast of France. 

She began her career in New York, where she worked in book marketing at Time Inc. and Doubleday, before moving south to Charleston. There, she served as the editor of Charleston Home magazine (and writer for its sister pub, Charleston). Following that, she was a senior editor at Coastal Living. Currently, she’s the executive editor of Veranda in Birmingham, Alabama.
